Again (Poem)

Again

Every tear
I cried for you.
Every heartbeat,
full of you.
Every moment,
fool for you.
Every joy and pain,
I’d do it all again.

Every shiver
given by you.
Every joke
I laughed with you.
Every boredom
passed with you.
Every dance out in the rain,
I’d do it all again.

Because none of it would mean a thing
if anyone else had been there with me.
And, darling, I can’t help but think
of what a waste of life that’d be.

Every second
waited for you.
Every cross word
said by you.
Every tickle
in bed with you.
Every forgiveness and blame,
I’d do it all again.
